PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT

Hitmaker Song Lab is committed to creating a respectful, supportive, professional, and creatively inspiring mentorship environment.


Participation in the program requires respectful conduct, professional communication, and responsible participation in all mentorship activities.


This Code of Conduct exists to support a safe, constructive, and productive creative experience for all participants.


For participants under age 18, parents or legal guardians are expected to support compliance with this Code.

1. EXPECTED PARTICIPATION

 

Participants agree to:

  • attend mentorship sessions on time;

  • participate respectfully and professionally;

  • engage actively in creative discussion and mentorship activities;

  • remain open to constructive feedback;

  • complete creative development work or assignments where applicable;

  • communicate respectfully with mentors and staff;

  • contribute to a positive learning environment.

Creative growth depends on consistency, professionalism, and mutual respect.

2. ONLINE SESSION RULES

 

Because mentorship sessions take place online (including via Zoom), participants agree to:

  • attend sessions from a reasonably quiet, distraction-free environment;

  • maintain appropriate engagement during mentorship sessions;

  • ensure required technology is functioning;

  • keep session links private and secure;

  • respect scheduling and mentor time commitments.

Recording Policy

Recording sessions, screenshots, screen recordings, or redistribution of mentorship content is prohibited unless prior written permission has been granted by Hitmaker Song Lab.

Unauthorized sharing of mentorship materials may result in removal from the program.

 

3. RESPECT, PROFESSIONALISM & SAFETY

The following behaviors are not permitted:

  • harassment, bullying, intimidation, or discrimination;

  • abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behavior;

  • inappropriate or offensive language;

  • disruptive conduct during mentorship sessions;

  • sharing private or confidential information without consent;

  • misuse of messaging, chat, communication tools, or session access.

 

Hitmaker Song Lab maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, abusive conduct, discrimination, or behavior that compromises participant safety or mentorship integrity.

 

4. CREATIVE INTEGRITY & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

 

Participants agree to:

  • submit original creative work wherever possible;

  • respect copyright and intellectual property rights;

  • avoid plagiarism or unauthorized copying of music, lyrics, or creative materials;

  • respect the proprietary educational materials, mentorship systems, and frameworks of Hitmaker Song Lab.

Participants may not:

  • copy, reproduce, or distribute program materials;

  • record sessions without written permission;

  • share proprietary resources publicly or commercially;

  • reproduce or teach Hitmaker Song Lab mentorship methods or curriculum.

Participants retain ownership of their original songs, lyrics, and compositions.

5. CONFIDENTIALITY & PROFESSIONAL RESPECT

 

Participants agree to maintain respectful boundaries and professionalism within mentorship spaces.


Confidential or private information shared during mentorship sessions should not be disclosed, distributed, or misused.


Participants should respect the privacy, creative ideas, and intellectual contributions of mentors and others.

 

6. CONSEQUENCES OF POLICY VIOLATIONS

 

Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • verbal or written warnings;

  • parent/legal guardian notification (for participants under 18);

  • temporary suspension of mentorship access;

  • removal from the program without refund for serious or repeated violations.

Hitmaker Song Lab reserves sole discretion in determining appropriate responses to conduct concerns.

7. PARENT / LEGAL GUARDIAN SUPPORT (FOR PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18)

 

Parents or legal guardians of minor participants agree to:

  • support respectful and professional conduct;

  • assist with communication, scheduling, and participation expectations where needed;

  • encourage adherence to mentorship policies and program expectations.

 

8. ACKNOWLEDGMENT

 

By enrolling or participating in Hitmaker Song Lab, participants acknowledge that they:

  • have read and understood this Participant Code of Conduct;

  • agree to comply with program expectations;

  • understand that respectful, professional participation is required.

For participants under age 18, a parent or legal guardian confirms agreement on the participant’s behalf.
